Słabo: You must refund. → Dobrze: If the product is damaged, you can ask for a refund.

Answer

If the item is damaged • you can return it.

Pamiętaj: Wzór: If + Present Simple, Present Simple / modal + base verb. Drugi przykład: If you lose the receipt → no proof of purchase → the shop may refuse a refund.

Zero conditional — rules and facts

Form: If + Present Simple, Present Simple. If you heat water, it boils. If the product is faulty, you can complain.

W tej lekcji w wyniku można naturalnie użyć modala:

  • If the item is damaged, you can return it.
  • If you do not have a receipt, you may not get a refund.
  • If the service is poor, you should contact customer service.

Zero vs first conditional

If the item will be damaged, you can return it.
If the item is damaged, you can return it.

zero conditional: po if → Present Simple.

If the product is damaged, I return it tomorrow.
If the product is damaged, I will return it tomorrow.

konkretna przyszła decyzja → first conditional.

Zero conditional = ogólna zasada / fakt. First conditional = konkretny przyszły skutek: If the product is damaged, I will return it tomorrow.
